We’ve made it through the January cold, and hopefully, we can bear the weather of February! Are you wondering what to do in Austin in February? We’ve got you covered. This month is another slow one for Austin. However, we scoured for the best events! This month brings one more holiday, Valentine’s Day, and there’s something for everyone. Also, don’t sleep on Mardi Gras! Keep reading to find some fun this month.

Carnaval Brasileiro – February 3rd

Austin’s Brazilian-style Mardi Gras is returning for another year! This festival was born in the 1970s and is still going on today. Now more than 5,000 partygoers come every year. Be sure to wear your best costume and get prepared to dance to some live music. Tickets and more info can be found here.

Mardi Gras Bar Crawl – February 10th

Come out to the Bling Pig Pub for the ultimate Mardi Gras bar crawl! East 6th Street will turn into Bourbon Street for a day. Get ready to catch some beads and dress up in purple and gold. For more info and tickets, visit their website.

Austin Marathon – February 18th

Come join the annual and infamous Austin marathon and half-marathon. Whether you want to run or support, it’s going to be a great day. There will be live music throughout the course and a downtown concert! Find out more here.

ATX Open – February 24th

The ATX Open is the only professional tour-level tennis tournament held annually in Austin. The tournament will take place at Westwood Country Club in beautiful West Austin. You can find out more at their website.

Cupid’s Undie Run – February 24th

If you don’t get enough running out of the Austin Marathon, check out Cupid’s Undie Run. Every February in Austin, runners put on their best underwear and leave the pants to run a mile. The goal is to end Neurofibromatosis once and for all. You can make a difference by registering for the race or donating.

Valentine’s Day

Galentine’s at Haymaker – February 14th

Come out to Haymaker’s to celebrate with the girls. There will be fun drinks, a tarot card reader, and other local vendors.

Galentine’s Day at Gibson Street Bar – February 13th

Come out to Gibson Street Bar at 6 pm for a night of friendship and fun. You won’t want to miss the Valentine’s specialty cocktails, permanent jewelry, and a build-your-own flower bouquet station.

Parent’s Night Out – February 14th

Drop your kids off at WorkCastle daycare at 6 pm on February 14th, then have a fun night out! There’s a whole evening of activities planned for your kids so they will have a great night too. Visit their website to learn more.
