July is here, and all of the 4th of July activities have passed. We hope you had a great time celebrating! The Independence Day festivities might be over, but there’s still a lot to look forward to this month. July is a wonderful month for family-friendly activities. Not to mention July brings several ways to stay cool during this intensely hot summer! Read below for events to add to your calendar!

Jurassic Quest – July 7-8

Come experience the largest and most realistic Dinosaur exhibit on tour! Come explore between 12-7pm Friday through Sunday at the Palmer Events Center. Tickets are $19-$36 and you can purchase here.

Princess Tea Party at The Driskell – July 8

If you have a little girl, you won’t want to miss this opportunity for them to dress whimsical and enjoy a tea party. Enjoy Driskell afternoon tea while some of your kid’s favorite princesses meet and greet you. From 11:30am-3:00pm at the famous Driskell hotel. Tickets are $75-$125 and you can purchase here.

Watermelon Festival – July 8

If you’re looking for an opportunity to get out of town and enjoy summer’s favorite treat, this is perfect for you. Come out to McDade, TX for the 75th annual Watermelon Festival and enjoy a parade, car show, live music, and of course watermelon. Visit their website for more info.

Cars and Coffee at COTA – July 16

Don’t miss one of Texas’s biggest car meetups at COTA! From 8am-12pm Sunday July 16th. Almost any car you can think of will be at this show including classics, race cars, off-roaders and more. Tickets come at the low price of $10 and you can purchase here.

Classic Games Fest – July 22 – July 23

Come out to the biggest retro game convention in Texas! You’ll be staying cool at the Palmers Events Center, while you check out over 75,000 sqft of retro games, game tournaments, special guests and panels, a huge vendor hall to purchase games, and more! Tickets can be purchased here.
