Kick off black history month at the George Washington Carver Museum Feb. 4th at 2 pm! “Solar Saturdays are a new bi-monthly program at the Carver Museum ATX that invites our community to a free afternoon of programming for all.” There will be live music, vendors, and food trucks. The Carver Museum gallery will also be open!
The Austin Humane Society’s annual Puppy Bowl is back this year! Enjoy puppy races, food, Superbowl puppy predictions, and pet adoptions. The Puppy Bowl is great for families and free! VIP tickets are available for purchase. More info can be found on their page.

The Real Thing is a play by Tom Stoppard “integrating issues of political anarchy in the politically charged atmosphere of London in the early 1980s.” “The audience must decide between reality and appearance, honesty and falsehood.” Tickets can be purchased here.
Jo’s coffee is back with its 16th annual Chili Cookoff! The Chili Cookoff raises money for Free Lunch, which works to address food insecurity in Austin. Amateur and professional chefs will battle it out to win the prized chili pot. Not into chili? There will also be live music, a raffle, and more. Entry is free unless you want to chili taste, then wristbands are $25.
Come to the Fair Market on Feb 11th for the Bloody Mary Festival. Try Austin’s best bloody mary’s, enjoy cocktails, spirits, other beverages, and food. Visit their website to see the local restaurants and bars participating.
Come enjoy a variety of Gulf and East Coast oysters prepared in every way at Republic Square. Food won’t stop there. There will be “Creole BBQ shrimp, Shrimp Po’Boys, and Crispy Spiced Pommes Frites.” Wash everything down with a bloody mary or wine and beer from local Austin vendors. Austin’s Brazilian-style Mardi Gras since 1978! “Carnaval started from a small party for homesick Brazilian students in Austin, to the largest indoor Carnaval party on the planet.” Dress up in a fun Mardi Gras costume and dance until 1:45am. Bring your valentine’s date to the Moody Center Feb 14th for a night of laughter! Adam Sandler will be performing stand-up comedy and songs. You can purchase tickets here.
Cupid’s Undie Run funds research for “neurofibromatosis, or ‘NF,’ a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body and affects 1 in every 3,000 births.” “We run in our undies because those affected by NF can’t cover up their tumors. They can’t put on clothes to feel more comfortable, so why should we?” They have raised $20,850,000 since 2010! Come to the Kung Fu Saloon Feb 25th and kick off the run with drinking and dancing. You’ll run a “mile(ish)” and end it with a dance party. You can register here.
