August has arrived in Austin and the weather is lovely, isn’t it? We hope you’re staying cool out there during the dog days of summer! We have a great list of activities to check out this month. Every event is free and perfect for the family. Keep reading to see what’s going on in Austin in August!
Free event at the Fareground! The movie starts at 8:30 pm, but you can secure a spot on the green as early as 7:00 pm. Be sure to bring a blanket a few bucks for concessions!
Live in the Round Rock area? Round Rock Parks and Recreation is hosting a “pop-up play day” at Lake Creek Park and Pool. It’s a free event from 5:00-7:00 pm, with family activities, music and dance, food and refreshments and more!
Get free admission all day at the Bullock Museum! Activities are from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Explore the story of Texas through 3 floors of exhibits. You can find the list of activities here.
Come enjoy live music at the Zilker Botanical Garden from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. If you’re feeling hungry, enjoy burgers from Downtown Burgers or a drink from Austin Beerworks. There will be a variety of local artists. Don’t forget to bring a blanket or a chair!
The Austin Public Library Cepeda Branch is hosting a free movie night Tuesday August 15th at 6 pm! Come enjoy Alice in Wonderland (2010) with the family!
